The Final Project to End all Projects

     Well my loyal blog followers we have reached the end of the line. Here I embed my final project halfheartedly, knowing it's my last blog post. But rejoice! For I have put my heart and soul into every minute detail of my family's heritage and I hope you enjoy hearing about it as I did making it for you. 

     First, I sent an email to my family members to get some background knowledge on my family. Then I interviewed my Mother and Father to see what they know, and at last I had enough information to make a family tree and in FamilyEcho, a Prezi, and an Infographic. To conclude it all I made a five-frame storyboard of my family going from oldest to youngest.

      I like the video, mostly because of the guys British accent. I agree that people are becoming my antisocial when the dint look up and talk. I like the little story the guy put in there, explaining why you should put down the phone. I see people all the time, myself included on their phones instead of talking, like a parties or work things. I probably don't use m phone too much but I still could put it down more. The guy is also a pretty good poet.

Read THIS blog post by a teacher. I mean actually read it. Take it in. Think about it. And then, write about it. What do you think about it? What is the teacher trying to say? In your own words explain what "the main event" is.

      The teacher is trying to say, that the most important thing that you gain from school is resilience to power through difficult things and not give up, because society destroys quitters. The main event is dealing with challenges, such as a thirty page  AP Euro review guide. I with this guy because he looses sleep because of his students so he really cares about them.

Reflect on your stop-motion animation project. How did it go? What worked? What didn't work? If you're not finished - why? If you are finished go in to detail about the project and what you learned. Give as much detail and information as possible.

     My stop motion video went great, everything was good besides the fact that I couldn't layer sound in movie maker so all have are sound effects, which is okay. I wish I took more photos so it's not so choppy, but it's not that bad. I think this is the most fun project I have done school. I was gone the day everybody went around the classroom and viewed each others, but I'm sure mine is the best.

What is your idea for your stop-motion animation? Explain yourself. Have you started taking photos? If not, when do you plan to take your photos? What is your action plan for today? What is your plan to GET SOMETHING DONE?

    My idea is to have a meal and have the food disappear bite by bite. I really like food so this would show my personality. I have not started taking photos yet. I will take them over the three day weekend. I will set up some lights and take some pictures.

What is stop motion animation? If you don't know, look it up! Explain.

I'm pretty sure its a form of video where you take a bunch of pictures to form a movie, like you move something slightly and take a picture and so on and so forth. I see them a lot in gifs and short films, they are really easy to find on YouTube, because lots of times they are associated with indie makers.

Tell me about your 5 frame storyboard. What did you like about the project? What did you dislike? Was it hard to fit a story in to 5 images? Do you think you tell a clear story? What would you do differently if you could? Explain.

I titled my storyboard "Track Practice."  It's pretty simple just getting dressed, warming up, drills, run and stretch. I like taking pictures I think it's fun to get cool angles and other stuff. I believe my story is pretty easy to understand, it's really not that complicated. I would not wait to the last minute to make it.

    According to wikipedia a story board is pictures or drawings that have some event or dialogue that outlines a movie or other type of media. They are used to outline stories and movies. They can be made either by drawings or pictures

Did you get your pictures taken yesterday? Did you enjoy going on the photo scavenger hunt? Why do you think I had you take those types of pictures?

     Yes. I took about 15 pictures with my partner, Maupin. It was pretty fun running around the halls taking pictures. I think we just need a variety a photos to edit and mess around with. But I didn't what some of the terminology meant like "canted."

What do you know about photography? When you take pictures what kind of camera do you use? Do you use your cell phone? Do you own a digital camera that is not your cell phone? Explain.

I don't know jack about photography. I have never really been into taking pictures, I rather just live in the moment. When I do take pictures I use my phone because it has a pretty good camera. I think it's a waste of money to buy an expensive digital camera when I can use my phone.

Welcome back! How was your Spring Break? Tell me all about it. You've been out of school for 10 days so I know you will have plenty to share. Make it good!

    Spring break 2014 was great. I got to go to British Virgin Islands in the Carribean with my family. We stayed at the Marriot Resort it was really nice. The food was delicious, we had the all inclusive meal plan so I was able to eat as much food as I could handle. My brother and I made a lot of sandcastles. Then, me, my brother, and my dad went on an island tour and saw a fort.

Prepare yourself... I want you to really THINK about this blog post. I mean really use your brain. What is the significance of an infographic? What is the point of pairing graphics and information together? What impact can this have on a reader or viewer. EXPLAIN.

     An infographic combines information with images in an interesting way. People are not robots they want to see things. The graphics help engage a person like a cover to a book or a movie poster. When there are pictures along with words it helps the reader better understand the data and facts in front of them. If you have a picture to draw a reader in it keeps them engaged. Pictures also can change their attitudes when the see a picture like a dying child in Africa.

If you had the option of writing a 3 page paper or creating an infographic - which one would you choose? Explain yourself.

            I would rather write a paper because it requires creativity just cold, hard facts. I was not blessed the creative gene that went to my sister, so I write papers when I have the choice. Also Piktochart is a pain because I have never used it before.

     I have almost finished the graphic part of the infographic and then I will add the info part once the graphic part. I have never used Piktochart so I was a little slow figuring out everything. I think I will be able to finish the infographic at the end of the hour, assuming that I didn't completely forget something in the rubric.

Why do I have you brainstorm and collect your information in a Google Doc before putting in to final draft? Explain.

     You brainstorm and collect information before you make a draft because it maps out and tells you what you are going to do. It is a good place to collect all your information. Also Google Doc is cool because it's all internet and saves automatically.

Yesterday I introduced you to infographics... tell me again what they are and how they are used? What is the benefit of an infographic? What goes into an infogrpahic?

Also, go out and see if you can find an already existing infographic on your global issue. Save the image to your computer and upload the image into your blog post for today. Save the source link to the image so that you can site the image in your blog post. See my examples at the end of this post.

     Infographics display, facts, stats, pictures, and charts all in one large image. People make infographics for just about anything from cars, spaceships, to food. Infographics usually have lots of facts, charts, and graphs. They usually have a color scheme too.

     My issue is over hydraulic fracturing or fracking. It is an issue because it can cause harm to drinking water and environments, it is also very wasteful. The people that do the fracking are rich energy companies. The people who fight fracking are environmentalist.

Where are you at with your 5 paragraph essay so far? How is it coming? Is it easy to write? Difficult to write? Is it helpful that you created an outline first? Explain.

     I have written three paragraphs so far and the words flowing. It is really easy to write when I have such  a thorough outline at my disposal. I only have to write one paragraph and the conclusion. I am way ahead of my neighbors who have not even started yet, because they were gone.

Tell me about your Sweetheart weekend. If you didn't go to Sweetheart, what did you do? I want details!

    I did not go to the sweetheart dance, because I was not asked, but I'm cool with that because I got to play video-games. I also has to work seven and a half hours.  I watched the Super Bowl with my family and my mom made cheese dip and it was delicious. I also played a rec basketball game against all the douche bags and we almost won, so that was cool.

Who do you look up to in life? Why? What have they done to help you or guide you?

     I look up to my dad because he has had to get work hard to get to where he is. He had to pay his way through college. He got a cello scholarship to Mizzou, the best school ever, and passed his accounting test the second time he took it when most people don't pass it till their fourth or fifth time. He also has some pretty cool kids.

     I chose the issue of fracking. Which is a way to get to natural gas out of subsurface caverns. It is controversial because natural gas can leak through the sandstone under ground and cause fires and crops to die.

I solve the douche bag epidemic. People carrying their lanyards in there pockets, carrying your protein shake around, and wearing your tank top in the winter. We need to stop these people's bad life decisions now.

What is a Public Service Announcement? If you don't know what it is, Google it. In your own words, now tell me what it is? What are they used for? Can you recall an example of a PSA you've seen before?

    I know it means public service announcement. And its a bunch pictures with music and a voice over. They are used to tell you stuff like disasters or epidemics. Sometimes the point of it is to request money and aid. I think one is the ASPCA with all the animals that makes you cry. I think they are just announcements.

Tell me about your three day weekend. How was it? What did you do? Elaborate!

     I had quite a weekend. I had to write a forensics speech that is 7 minutes long. I spent about 5 hours writing it and only wrote a about five minutes worth. It is over old pirates and modern day pirates. I also worked everyday at the Jewish community center, it gets quite boring guarding by yourself for four hours. I also praticed presenting my all about me presentation.

What have you learned about Google Drive and Google Presentation so far? What do you like about it? What problems have you run in to? Is it better than PowerPoint? Explain.

     I already knew some stuff about Google Drive, because I had an AP Euro presentation on Google Drive. But what I didn't know is that you can make documents and other things in Google Drive. It is almost the Office Programs. I thought It was cool how it gives you some templates already.  It is also very cool that it is all free. It is much better than PowerPoint because I do noy have to pay any money.

Tell me if you agree with this statement and then explain why or why not. "Images on the internet are 'free game' - if someone posted I should be able to use it."

     Because I was in web design we a couple days talking about images. I know that all images are under copyright and you can only copy images that are specifically available for anyone to use. Any image you create is your intellectual property. You can get your butt sued if copy someone's image. You need to cite your image source, but even then you might not be able to use the image. So I don't agree with the statement.

     I hoping to learn more about things that I can make presentations on like Prezi or Google Drive. I know I have to make lots of presentations throughout the school year, and if I could wow my teachers with my technology skill. I also would like to learn more about other presentation sites because I know about is Prezi, Powerpoint, and Google Drive. I want to walk out of this class with the ability to wow my teachers with my presentations.
